BOHEMIANS, SWINGERS, CIRQUE, and ANCIENT GREEK THEATER…

There is a theater in town located in the heart of the Commercial Center district. That's right, a beautiful theater in the back of the Rack Bondage shop next to the Green Door swingers club.

Artistic Director John Beane of the California based "Insurgo Theater Movement" has scouted this Las Vegas location to premiere a new adaptation of Aristophanes exploration of sex and war, LYSISTRATA.

Artistic Choreographer for Cirque De Soleil's Zumanity, Marcus Bugler has signed on to LYSISTRATA as the productions choreographer. "Bugler's original style, emphasized in Cirque's sexiest and most avante-garde show, is
perfect for our production" said Beane.

Insurgo Theater Movement (ITM) has been highly awarded by the press in Southern California since 2001. Winning such awards as "Focus on Fortune" award for business from the Orange County Register and with "Best Production,
Best Director and Best Actor" nods from the Orange County Register and Los Angeles Times for such productions as WAITING FOR GODOT, HAMLET, WUTHERING HEIGHTS and HENRY V.

So why Las Vegas
, and why now? Beane and many of the ensemble are Vegas natives, born and raised in our beautiful city. They have been running
their company in Orange County and Los Angeles in California for six years
and finally felt that there was opportunity for a theater company to open in their home town.

The Insurgo Theater Movement's adaptation of LYSISTRATA will open May 18th at the Onyx Theater.

The show has been heavily adapted and restructured by the Ensemble, featuring music from Modern English, Nina Simone, Velvet Underground and more. The new version of the show contains less than 50% of the original Aristophanes. The focus has

from a bawdy sex skit to a stylish, lush exploration of the female and male featuring song, dance, a new 12 person cast, original script work and adaptations from other classic texts and more. The production does contain brief nudity.

This production played May - June, 2007
